Our Story

Jo Jo's Americana is characterized as having "the sophistication of New York; the glamour of Hollywood; the comfort of the deep South and Midwestern charm with the rhythm of Chicago".

What does this really mean? Set in Douglas, MI - an oh so charming Midwestern town, Jo Jo's, while offering popular American dishes at popular prices, also has that touch of "class", the air of professionalism, greatness, hip and high fashion that New York is known and loved for. At the same time, Jo Jo's offer a glimpse of the celebrity, together with the healthy eating styles, that reminds us of L.A. Our casual nature, however, and our signature "comfort" dishes, such as fried chicken served in tin buckets, and the juke joint-like decor conjures up the the look and feel of the deep south, while the jazz combos, blues and gospel music provide a Chicago beat from the background and the stage. Crowning all this is the superb culinary talent and levity of Joey Santos, who never leaves you hungry but always leaves 'em laughing.
